I'd say some private hatchery would charge a club $500 for that fish maybe $1000
 
That net is much more than necessary for this fish. IMO.
Many nets are well sized for trout.
Personally use a net that can handle all trout easily, up to about 24".
Also personally try to take wading staff handled net every time for wild trout. It easily allows netting away from the shore and helps keep trout from bouncing on the rocks in the shallows.
That small net can handle trout about 20".
Use larger net for wading and larger streams.

It's definitely a tiger. A little curious for an account titled "wild trout" but, eh, whatever.
 
Perhaps it was caught in a waterway, such as the White River in Arkansas. That net looked more like a musky net to me, but it was needed for that big boy.

It was a great fish!

Nice picture/video to get the blood flowing in the middle of winter
