I can confirm the presence of trout in both locations.
Various species of bugs were hatching throughout the day, but only sporadically. The usual suspects: gray fox, march brown, crane flies, brown caddis.
I saw a few sulfurs popping up on Tea in the last two hours before dark, but only a few. Fewer than 20.
I saw a few fish rising each day. Like four or five.
The water is charging right along in both streams, still pretty high for this time of year. More like April conditions than May conditions.
Both places made for good locations for me to practice nymphing technique- plenty of good runs with just enough flow and depth to drift a weighted black stonefly along the bottom with a tan soft hackle tied off the band as a point fly. No shot needed, and no more indicator than the green Amnesia butt section of my leader. Sort of like leading a show dog around the ring at a dog show, just loosely tight enough so it doesn't yank, drag, or balk on the leash. Until a fish hits.
