Help with identifying

Plenty of these on my truck last night by the little j

I would guess that is a Paraleptophlebia, aka Paraleps.

An even further guess would be specifically Paraleptophlebia mollis due to the color and time of year.

Can't wait to find out if that is correct or not, but either way, a VERY cool find!

Dear pinecroftal,

I'll second the Paraleptophlebia. Years ago, they were very common on Big Fishing Creek in the Narrows in late May and early June, weather depending.

They emerge in the evenings, and the spinner falls were in the morning. My brother and I called them "Clown Flies" because the spinners would dance over the riffles at the head of a pool bouncing up and down like they were dancing to a pipe organ at the circus.

I will third that it is of the genus previously known as Paraleptophlebia and now probably Neoleptophlebia.
