Hi everyone, thanks for accepting my account. I’m from queens NY, not from pennsylvania but I browse this forum a lot and find it useful.
I have been fly fishing for a little over a year, and started tying in the fall. On weekends, during the warmer months and through deer season, I make the 2hr drive up to the catskills from the city to fish. At home I tie flies. I like fishing dry flies for trout, but switch to subsurface if necessary... I dont like nymphing
My favorite fly to tie is the quill gordon. I like tying catskill flies
Patiently waiting for spring to arrive.. 🙂

I used to live in Jackson Heights, 11373. 😉

In those days I would walk to LaGuardia to rent a car and drive to PA, NJ or the Catskills to fish.

Welcome!!!

Welcome aboard!

Welcome. My trips to the Catskills were always memorable. Not just the fishing, but the landscape as well. I think PA has better fishing, though.

When I was in college with log hair I used to drive from New Brunswick, NJ to the end of Queens Boulevard to Forest Hills to visit an Irish girl. Her father was a Union man reminiscent of Archie Bunker. He hated the sight of me. A man of 19 or 20 will go to extreme lengths satisfy his needs for companionship.

BYW you drive northwest to fish the Catskills. Why not drive east to fish the legendary or the Carmans River for sea run brook trout? Daniel Webster allegedly fought and landed a coaster that went over 15 pounds.

Admittedly I never really looked into it, but sea run brook trout sounds awesome. I'll check it out one day. On long island I use my regular spinning equipment and mostly target fluke

Welcome aboard. GG

Nice avatar! Animals is my favorite Pink Floyd album.

Welcome to PAFF.
