had a couple hours this afternoon, so I swung by the lower bridge and hiked in with a rod. LOTS of snow still, especially up in the hollow. kinda dangerous, snow is covering all kinds of rocks and crevasses and even the stream in a few places. stupid of me to even be there, especially by myself. cell phones do not work there!! anyways, water was flowing pretty good and starting to get off-colored, the melt is starting to affect things, the slippery rock as well, it's up quite a bit from when I checked it saturday.
caught 1, hooked and lost another. didn't fish long, maybe half and hour. didn't want to push my luck and fall through a snow bridge and rattle down the into a hole. I'm not trying to scare anyone off, but if you have plans to head into there anytime soon, don't go alone, and even then, be careful, one wrong step can put you in a very bad place! I'm gonna leave it alone for a while, the melt is going to continue and the water will only get higher anyways. I think it's gonna be good later this spring though! hike out was a #OOPS#!
