Heading to Erie

Going steelhead fishing this Monday in Erie , probably On Elk creek hope the bite is on ,not ashamed to say but I'm going with a guide,if I can only go once a year if like my chances with him versus going blindly,taking the 7 wt with floating line and the 8 with sinking line ,hope to have some photos for yinz ,

yeah, if it was the guide, kudos. They are solid. Too often guides will try to fish ridiculous conditions. I've seen it on the J before.

Be prepared to hike and fish pressured water when you find fish. Lake effect by mid week they don't know amounts yet only eastern Lake Erie from Ashtabula to Buffalo will receive snow.

Was up there yesterday and today. It sucked. Low water, few fish, TONS of anglers. There was no "walk to get away from the crowds". It was literally leap frog war as far as you could go.

Stopped at a DHALO on my way home to salvage the trip, glad I did it was not crowded at all and I caught a bunch.

Yes the guide called it off and is rescheduled for December 3rd or 4th

This Wednesday Lake Erie is getting 50-60 mph winds from the south, southwest. All of the water will be in the eastern part of the lake. Buffalo is going to get predicted flooding. There will be plenty of water in Erie, Pa.
