This stream, for all of the things that it struggles against, is in MUCH better shape than Trindle Springs Run, its cousin running through Mechanicsburg.
Trindle Spring is a vastly more beautiful stream. It also contains a spring house, runs below highways, alongside giant shopping centers, and contains its fair share of trash, chubs, and housing. However, if you see (let alone catch) more than 2 trout on a given trip, I'd say it's a red letter day. I am done trying Trindle- it's now overgrown to the point that it's near impossible to get through without ripping waders.
Spring Creek is much preferred because there's something beautiful about the one flower growing out of the cracks in the cement. It's got the biomass, civilization be darned- and that's what makes it interesting.
