You have got to love this creek. I parked at the end of the road on 82N. Note to GPS users: I guess the state says officially 82 ends in Elverson and is called Hay Creek Rd. beyond that.
I walked a lot & fished some, but mainly I was on a fact-finding mission. There were a lot of cars packed in the cul-de-sac, but everyone else was doing anything but fishing: rock climbers heading for the quarry, mtn. bikers, even a couple on horseback.
I fished from the raceway down almost to what I think are town limits of Birdsboro. Generally the pools had sunnies and pocket water held the trout. There was a small sulfur hatch, maybe #16 after 5ish. Then the green caddises came out and there was some noticeable topwater action.
Thanks to Shakey for giving me a green wet fly that reminds me of the green butt skunk fly used in Atlantic salmon fishing. Caught no fish over 9", but they were all genuinely awesome. My new 3wt. loves this water.
