I took the whole family to Harman’s this past weekend (Sat 11/1 – Wed 11/5), and it was a great trip.
My son and I spent our first full day exploring a nearby state park\forest (the name escapes me) in search of wild trout. We managed to find a few beautiful little wild brookies — not a ton of fish, but had a really fun day together on the water.
The rest of the trip we stayed on the Harman’s property, where my daughter joined us for some fishing. We lost count of how many rainbows we caught — most were in the 10"–19" range, but we had a few encounters with some big boys pushing 24"+ that we just couldn’t land. the water level was very low ant in the low 50s.
While we were fishing, my wife and my son’s girlfriend relaxed by the fire pit, catching up on their reading, and my mother-in-law kept everyone well-fed with her baking, cooking, and movie marathons.
Everyone had a fantastic time. I can’t recommend Harman’s enough — it’s the perfect spot for both fishing and family relaxation.
