Fished here on a last-minute whim, and was extremely surprised with this body of water. Temperatures were mid 60's by afternoon, with blue skies dotted by clouds. I'm terrible with my invertebrates, but the hatches of the day seemed pretty small.

After parking near the confluence of Walnut run, I made my way to the banks of the mighty Hammer for the first time. I've been on a Brook trout frenzy, so it was exciting to see a 7 mile creek w/ strong population/tribs online... but alas, this section was stocked ;(.

Next I drove up Pumping Station Rd, and parked in what seemed to be the last public pull-off for a while. Now, about .75 mi above the aforementioned stocked section, the creek stretched wider and shallower than I had hoped. A few minutes in this spot led to a hookup, and a BROOK TROUT!! Within my last hour working knee-depth or better stretches, I landed 7 brookies, 1 brown all
