Hammer Creek is one of the better wild brook trout streams in the County but not the best. It also is stocked from 322 upstream. The day i fished it, it was off color due to the recent rains but had cleared up quickly from the day before when it was a muddy fast flowing wreck. Sulphurs where coming off in the early morning into the afternoon and i did see a few fish rising. Unfortunatly those fish were browns and were also aware of my presence around them. I did catch a few stocked rainbows and a few fat wild brook trout. I also fished down in to the preserve and had missed a few stockers downthere. Seems that alot of the ATW still have tons of stockers in them in Lancaster County. Go gettem and help those wildies!

Hey SALVE I fished Hammer last week, Tuesday I think and it was good. At hammer I hooked up two fish, one wild brookie and a stockie but they were long releases. I also fished "the secret" and caught three beautiful wild brookies and spooked alot more, good to know that the population is still healthy. Thanks again for sharing your local knowledge.

Sweet Wmass :-D Ya me and Spector fished the secret about 4-5 days ago and caught 3 brookies in the 10 inch range and he caught one that was about 12 inches :-o That stream is doing very well. They sure are pretty. No problem on the info Wmass anytime you want to pick my brain about streams over here just ask bro. :-D
