Hair, Fur and Feathers - $30.00

I will sell you this assortment of Items for $30.00, picked up in New Holland, PA, or I’ll ship it to you in the US for 10.00, paid by PayPal.

I’d like to mention several of these items. Refer to them in the enclosed pictures, numbered 1 to 6.

1. Mallard flank feathers of approx. 1/3 gram/package. One is dyed olive, one is dyed gray, and one is natural. Another large package (not numbered) is dyed turkey marabou.
2. Gary LaFontaine used dyed orange deer hair for his halo mayfly Emerger and midge Emerger patterns. I bought enough dyed orange deer hair to tie 2 or 3 lifetime supplies of these flies. You’re in luck, here’s enough orange deer hair for your lifetime of tying those patterns.
3. Someone took a lot of time to neatly stack 3” long pieces of (what I believe are) white bucktai, and glued the butt ends together so all you have to do is cut of a piece when you’re tying your flies.
4. Nearly translucent, similar to polar bear fur. I don’t think it is polar bear, but I’m not sure what it is. ?🤔
5. Another interesting piece of fur. I do not know what it is, but at 4”x 5”, with thick underfur, it would make nice small streamers, or use it for hair winged flies.
6. Rusty dun hen neck with lots of small feathers. Useful for wings or wet flies. The skin was ripped, and was a bit curled from being stored so I taped it down to take this picture. I’ve since removed the tape and flattened it.

(The last picture, not numbered, is a large piece of tanned white rabbit fur. Use it as is, or it’s easy to dye. Cut it into strips for bunny leach patterns, or use it for dubbing)

Very strange. One of my pictures of the items I’m selling was in my original post, but it later disappeared.

So I’ll post it here again.

That reminds me of a picture of this 1974 Chevy truck I saw for sale on Craigslist awhile back. The one that said it had an excellent camouflage paint job.

I’ll also include this large piece of mink fur (approx. 9” x 12”) with this assortment. The dark gray underfur is soft and easy to dub, and used together with the spiky guard hairs tied in a dubbing loop it makes effective nymph, and other, patterns.

I’ll add these 2 unused Indian necks to the mix. Although these do not have the number of barbules per inch, or the quantity of smaller sized hackle as today’s genetically raised birds do, they still have plenty of hackles for larger flies, and they contain some larger barbules that are well suited for tailing materials.

I found it was amusing that Sportsmen’s Warehouse sticker says “Manufactured in USA of Imported Materials”. I’m not sure what part of the rooster was “manufactured in the USA” after it was raised, killed and skinned in India.
