Fished two separate sections from 2:30- almost dark. Lots of bugs; caddis, yellow cranes, Sulphers( some really orange), and I think some March Browns; they were big flies. Tan caddis were the dominate hatch. Water clear and 60; weather sunny and hot, turning cloudy with a little rain, thunder, etc. My brother met me and fished for awhile with his spinning gear, but only managed a couple, and that was in spots I knew held trout. I was around 5-1 on the catch ratio. Moved to another location and did even better, twitching caddis pupa and ants, and then later a small(18)soft hackle sulpher imitation. There was some frantic action in some of the fastest pools and riffles French has to offer. There were a couple risers, and I tried for a bit and missed two. The Sulphers came off really late, and they didn't draw much attention. I would have liked to have stayed at my first spot, as there were a lot of Sulphers early; that got shut down due to a derby stocking. All in all another fine outing. Many trout were educated, and I fished my a## off and burned off a lot of calories. Too bad I ate four pieces of pizza with all the extras, afterwords.
