Got out of work early today and happened to have my fly rod along. Working a mile away from the creek does have it's advantages! Fished a stretch of open water I haven't been on yet this season. Sunny and a light breeze; I forgot to drop in my therm. but I'd guess about 57-58. Water clear and still pushing along nicely. Covered a lot of water with a tandem rig and moved a good no. of fish considering I started at 1:30 and fished to about five. The nicest was what appeared to be a hold over brown pushing 15''. Too bad he was foul hooked on a tiny ant. Probably hit the caddis pupa and I was too slow on the draw. One heck of a fight on 6X! Explored some runs I hadn't seen in years, which was a little sobering due to the silt filling in a lot of nice holes and runs. Still, there where trout over half a mile from the nearest stocking location, and only saw a couple guys on the way out. Caddis continue to dominate, and there were a few risers today. Hoping for some more rain, soon; trout were way fussier than my last outing. Hooked around twenty, and landed about half that.

Nice! I need to meet up with you to fish the better parts of the stream sometime.

good stuff cleaver. Covered some water myself and hooked into a dozen or so over the span of 3 hours. Caught some fresh ones, but two were likely holdovers. It would be cool if they float stocked that stream... lots of pocket water and shady areas that can hold fish into the summer.

Fished mainly wets and small streamers
