French Creek, Chester County, 09 02 2013

I spent a pleasant, sun-dappled morning on French Creek outside of Phoenixville. I lost two trout whilst contemplating the wildflowers along the bank, but had a great time catching redbreast sunfish on the dry fly (BWO and Olive X-caddis). I also landed one very large fallfish that jumped as high as any rainbow trout.

A good holiday . . .

I like being sun-dappled, all day if possible. Bad report-- no conditions information from which anyone can learn. This is a better fit for the General or Fly Fishing Locations forums.

Ron, don't get defensive. Read the guidelines. This forum is meant to be a database of useful information. Correct titling. which you did, is only one element. The substance of the report should:

1. Identify the approximate location;
2. Describe the water and atmospheric conditions;
3. Describe any hatches or benthic phenomenon;
4. Be creative and interesting (optional).

The optional #4 alone is not sufficient. Thanks for supplementing.

196 cfs is rippin' for French. The hydrograph says 50cfs for that day.

Sounds like a fun day.
