Started off this morning at French Creek at Pughtown & Shedder and worked my way upstream to the beginning of the FFO section. Flows were at about 150 CFS with light rain and windy where air temps were in the middle 40s. Fished nymphs under an indicator and wound up with eight fish from 8:30 am to 11:00 am.
Biggest fish in picture below.
Got to Valley around 11:30 and fished from the turnpike bridge down to the covered bridge within the park.
Started off drifting and swinging nymphs, picking up three, until I got past the iron bridge where I switched to dry flies to go after the risers. BWO’s size 18-22 were randomly coming off and there was some mayflys the fish were also targeting (either quill gordon or dark Hendrickson) . Got two more on drys and called it a day, after meeting a fellow site member, Bam. Flows were dropping from the upper 60s cfs and air temps got up to the upper 40s and partly cloudy.
