Highly doubt it's a well pad, more likely that there might be some logging activity and those are laydown yards. Only other guess would be some habitat restoration type project.
Im thinking pretty hard, but I cant think of a gas well south of the west branch susquehanna river from Lock Haven to Muncy. I am fairly confident in saying there isnt marcellus shale there or atleast in economically practical quantities or it would have been developed. I would guess log landing as well.
“Officially” I’m still in the logging camp. But good thought and also a possibility I think. Good location for one probably, would likely provide service to Poe Valley/Poe Paddy, if so.
Either way, I highly doubt it’s anything gas/oil related.
back up at Penn’s View. There are five of these areas pretty close together. Will try to ask at the office. Just seems very suspicious that there is no info out there.my guess would be communications of some kind. Maybe I won’t need to drive up here for cell phone service anymore. Also a large clearing and huge house going up at the first hole above the trestle bridge. I come up here to escape the **** going on everywhere else.
I do remember reading that there is Utica not Marcellus in this area.
I just meant those could be the landing/loading pads for piles of logs and trucks for the clear-cuts. I'm not saying the spots shown in the pictures are for grouse habitat.
I'll admit that I know virtually nothing about commercial logging procedures. I'm just casting my wish out there hoping it's work being done for grouse.
