Floated the Casselman from Markleton to Fort Cherry on 4-27.
We put in about 10:30 and took out around 3 pm. Very hot, approaching upper 70s. Didn't take water temperature - sorry.
Had never fished there before, but was duly impressed with the water
And scenery - quite lovely!!
Got skunked, but my buddies caught some some bass. Tried nymphing for awhile then switched to hammering the banks with a black bugger to no avail. Very little foot access in this section as the river runs away from roads - kinda reminded of western waters.
Only saw a few caddis and a couple of mayflies - either an olive or maybe a blue quill. Turned over some rocks , but not a lot of bug life, some stoneflies, caddis larvae and sporadic nymphs. Wondering how
Fertile the river is. Never enjoyed getting skunked as much! Time to float the Yough now.

Please note the Stream - County - Date format that we like to see in the subject/title line.

Was this in Somerset County?
Thanks,
DW

Yes - this was in Somerset county. It would be great in a kayak!
I think it was flowing at 2.4 ft. Pretty soon it will not be wise to take a boat there. We ran into some skinny water and almost got hung up.
No fun dragging a 120lb. raft with oar frame.
