Fishing Creek - Benton area
Columbia County, PA
5/13/20
Parameters:
Air - mostly sunny, 65F, slight wind
Water:
Temperature - 58F
TDS - 30ppm
Salt - 0ppt
Conductivity - 40 uS / cm^3
Flow - average, coming down after a week of rain and cold
Hatches:
size 16 - hendricksons (sporadic)
size 16 - light grey caddis (grannoms?)
size 24 or smaller black midges
Little to no surface activity from the fish, but plenty of fishermen still out. Fish are pressured hard with stay-at-home orders from COVID-19. Managed several nice fish from soft hackle flies I imagine imitated hatching caddis.
Several nice days coming in the forecast, with highs in the upper 70s. Water should warm up and maybe bring the march brown hatch or a larger grannom.
