A day earlier I had bought a 9ft 5wt at the Kettle Creek Fly Shop. So I had an inch to use it when I saw the stiff wind. I tied on the fly that made my week (#16 dark Caddis) and I planned to fish it down through the riffle. Today there were only 4-5 rises the whole time I was there. I blind casted for awhile but nothing was working the surface. I switched to a streamer and just worked downstream. I had 5-6 strikes and landed 1 nice brown.

One other angler on the creek. An older fellow with a smaller motor home parked on the berm. He quit just after I arrived. I suspect he took a break when fishing was poor.

Saw a fawn streamside laying in grass
