First Fork Sinnemahoning Creek 4/10/21

Fished the Keystone Select area of the Fork on Saturday. The water level was just about right for this time of year, although the rain we've seen since Saturday may have had an impact.

We fished the pool at the bottom boundary of the project and lower end of the "road hole" from about 10am -6pm. There were some sparse black stoneflies (#16) as well as smaller caddis (#18) and a darker bodied caddis (#14). We caught fish on all three, but from about noon until 4 there were enough Red Quills (#16) hitting the water to get the fish looking up. Air temp topped 70F and it was mostly sunny through the afternoon.

My hat is off to the two guys I watched pick up garbage at a pullout at the upper end of the project. Picking up trash is contagious....when you or I do it, sometimes its just enough to encourage someone else too! The Fork has a lot of friends these days, and its nice to see some people taking care of it!

Glad to hear fish are already looking up in the north, completely agree about the contagion of picking up trash too, wether its guilt i feel when i see someone else or its inspiration it works.
