got to the stream about 1pm air temp was 36 deg it was raining lightly and trying to snow, perfect for a baetis hatch, fished the dh area just down from bailey run , many fish rising, baetis all over the water about a size 24 !!! the smallest i had was a size 20, only caught 3 in about an hour, watching them rise and follow my fly only to reject it was frustrating, even trimmed on down to see if that would help, no luck
I did see some small caddis with a grayish body on the grass next to me nothing on the water though , tied on a size 16 caddis emerger and caught 5 left at 4:30, had the whole stream to myself !!!

I love this stream, I cant remember which sections I use to fish, but the fishing was great! Then the following year... No fish.. They would take any fly presented them right with out thought.

My wife told me they just stocked this stretch a week or two ago... Hoping to hit it in two weeks weather permitting! :-D

yes it was just stocked, that stream had good flows all summer with the weather we had, so i bet there are a lot of fish still there from the spring stocking,

That's good to hear. I will be up there in 2 weeks for turkey hunting/fishing and was wondering how the stream is doing. Sounds like this year will be much better than last. The water was just too low to fish.

Thanks for the report.
