Had a couple of days off work and had chance to get away during the week. Fished upper First Fork. Water is in great shape. Fish are nicely spread out and feeding aggressively. Caught numerous fish. Mostly tight lining with An Egans Red Dart, Soft hackle hares ear. Saw a lot of diving caddis and a few Gray Fox. Hooked the biggest rainbow of my life. Easily 24”+. Fought like a steelhead. Gave me 4 nice leaps!! Before breaking me off. Mostly stockers but a few nice wild browns in the 12-14” range.
Was going to head out tonight for the evening hatch but i think I’m going to have a few beers instead.

Good to hear it’s fishing well. I may head up this week. Were you in the delayed harvest or further upstream?

My buddy hooked a giant rainbow there too. Lots of big stockers for sure.
