Arrived about 1:00 after a long drive with showers just about the whole way. Potter didn't disappoint me as it was still raining through the afternoon.
Water was up a little, but not discolored. Air and water temps were both in the lower 50's. USGS gauge was at about 160.
Jumped in right away expecting to chuck lead all afternoon and quickly realized there was a hatch coming off and fish rising. I then humped it across the stream for some better casting.
Best I could figure it was Red Quills and the fish were taking them even in the light rain. The fishing was good until about 4:30 when my friend Ron showed up and chased all the fun away. Really nice sized rainbows and one small stocked brown. Water was still rising and glad I made it across when I did. Left the stream and planned our next attack from the Warton. I needed a stream report for East Fork anyway!
The rain stayed all night and drove the water way up to past 800 on 4/27 & 4/28. Talking with other in the area Pine and many of the streams were all way up. Moved over to Kettle for the next few days.
I left a PAFF Euro sticker at the project for the next guy who stops by the project on First Fork.
