Went down to the sports complex area to fish the ponds in FDR park. The pond in question is the large one in the middle of the park. It has the large ampitheater area on the north side.

Caught one decent bass on a frog. He was about 5 feet to the right of the Hurricane 40oz. bottle. Missed another near the kid's bike. This urban fishing is weird... There were tons of small bluegills around, but they were too small to hit. No snakeheads to report.

The water is cooling off quickly. Hopefully the algae will dissipate soon, and we can get a few more trips in before it gets cold. There is a nice view of Lincoln Financial Field from the west bank of the pond. Maybe I'll fish it during a game...

That sucks that you didn't get any snakeheads . So what other types of wierd fish habitat did you run into Jay ? And how was the sceenery in the park any head turners ?

I've found better habitat on the south and west ends, mainly because the north and east are weed choked. There are usually stumps and clusters of bottles, and the occasional tire bed. If you can get the right winds, the algae will blow off the west bank and you can fish some good water.

Head turners? I've never seen an attractive girl there, if that's what you mean. They are in fairmount and along kelly drive for sure, but I think FDR is still a little too gangsta for the hot girls to go out running.

If you mean freaks, then yes. Every person that walked behind me was one.
