Just got back from fishing both project areas on Falling Spring. I started on the lower end of the DHALO and worked my way upstream to behind the hospital. I took 11 Browns on Foam Beetles, Foam Crickets, and a Gypsy Moth imitation I tied with black deer hair palmered with grizzly hackle. Both the stream and fish seem to be holding up quite well-in fact, most if not all of the browns I caught were either holdovers or wild as they had great coloration and perfect fins. Things died down here so I hopped in the car and tried my luck at the Heritage Area off of Falling Springs Rd. This used to be my home stream and I spent gobs of time learning it. Water was gin clear with lots of swishing elodea. There was some sporadic rising to what I don't know. I did manage three small rainbows downstream from where I parked and I picked up two raspberry striped rainbows in the 12" range above-all on a Foam Beetle. I spooked way more fish than I caught here which is par for the course. Add in the bright sun and hot temps, and I decided to pack it in. I'm thinking of coming back at daybreak to see what the trikes are up to these days.
