Didnt see one sulpher, but the fish were still rising at a decent clip. Couldnt see anything but midges and probably terrestrials as I saw a couple fish hit debris that fell off the trees. Fish seemed educated as they would inspect my beetles pretty hard. When I finally got one to hand, I think it had "M.H." scratched on its side.🙂
GulfGreyhound had a sweet one get off while bringing it in, as did I. Put brookies in there this year.
Thanks for dinner Art, and see you in a few months. My key did in fact finally come out of the ignition last night.
 
Come on there are plenty out there that don't have the M.H. scratch on them.
All joking aside- I was on the letort and found some sulphurs while you were on FSB. There were some sulphurs hatching Sunday, but so far not looking like the year for them. Going the hit Conococheague Thursday.

MH=Mike Heck (fir and feather on the forum, see above)...He also wrote a fantastic book called "Spring Creek Strategies"..... Its proved to be a helpful guide, good read and nice pictures as well
 
Is the birth name of the man who posted above you. Perhaps they may have had a MC on them if they were the fish that fed on the risers.
 
Hope you guys didn't have a run-in with the nesting swan in the upper section. 🙂

Got my butt kicked and run outa Dodge last week.
 
Same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago! Man that is one mean bird, his little sweetie is nesting on the lake. He chased me all over the place, but he wasn't able to get a blow on me.
 
Wild Canadian geese nesting along the rivers out west let you know not to get too close-lol
 
I was at FSB yesterday, from around 6-8:30pm. The section just below Springview Lane, fishing in people's front yards.

I hadn't been there in around three years. The stream topography has changed significantly in some ways. The tree that was once at the edge of the bank with branches overhanging the pool just below the bridge is now collapsed into the stream as "structure", catching a lot of silt and weedbeds that have now filled in the pool that was once there. And the once deep flat water pool below the footbridge is now more like a shallower channel hugging the undercut on the west bank of the stream.

Most of the structure improvements in between those two places look as if they've worked out pretty well.

I looked for risers, but didn't see any. I did get one 9" rainbow in one of the pools, on a small brown beadhead soft hackle trailing a yellow crane fly dropper.

That is infinitely better than I've ever done before on that stretch of Falling Springs. I'm still stoked about it. That place is a tough course for my ability. All I've ever caught before in that section is trees.

 
The killer sheep has long since been vanquished from the banks of Lititz Run.
I wonder if his spirit is now in that swan.

I tried to warn you guys about that swan this past winter. I dont think it would matter if it was nesting.....it just dislikes people.
 
You should be there today. When I stopped by last night, it was just over and the stream was quickly coming up-6 inches of rain will do that.
Springview Dr. was nailed by the storm. The road is still one lane going into New Franklin. Water is still light brown and brown in town. Many landowners will be out cleaning this weekend.
My siding on my house looks like swiss cheese.

Was a heck of a storm for sure. Man you are running bad, didn't you have a homeowners claim a month or two ago? Greencastle/Waynesboro/etc seems to always get the worst of storms the last couple years. Got about 100 claims in the area just today. Saw a few of them today, then stopped by Green Spring . . .nope, then went to Big Spring and had a good hour before yet another storm.
 
Sure did and glad they did not get to the doors yet. Now my siding, roof and window screens are done. Waiting for them to come out again. I think I'm putting plexi-glass around the entire house.
Bet your head deep in claims again.
