Fished Falling Springs yesterday from 11AM till 3PM. Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day, i even got a little burn on my face. The stream is always consistent flow and temp (52 degrees). I fished the Fly Fish Only Section and started at the quarry access and fished to Edwards Street access (with a one hour conference call in the middle). I got a small Rainbow (5" to 6") in the first riffles above the quarry access, he still had the vertical bands on his sides so he was a fresh hatch. The I started walking and didn't see any fish until I had walked almost to the housing community and then all of a sudden there were two pools that were holding like 25 fish each. I unsuccessfully fished over those two pools, some of the fish in there were of very good size (20"+). I continued up were there has been some man made structure, there were some smaller fish rising to something in this area. I continued up to Edwards Street and picked up another small Rainbow in that area (6" to 7"). Whenever I think I am getting pretty good at fly fishing its a good idea to hit one of these limestoners because it makes me realize how much more i have to learn.
