A friend and I fished Falling Springs all day saturday. We got to the stream at 6:30 and started at the lower end of the Orvis Meadow. We worked up to where Falling Springs Rd crosses the stream. We didn't fish above the road this time. The water temp was 60. There were no hatches observed. We caught 2 browns in the 7-9" range. We then moved down to just below the funeral home and worked up to the top of the FFO section above Quarry Meadows. This section was very rewarding. We caught a 17" brown and a 15" tiger out of on of the holes behind the funeral home. I think we caught 10 in this section. We then went to the DHALO section in town. As we were rigging up a guy came floating down on an inner tube. So we walked off some good water including a hole that held at least 3 fish over 20". The one was an absolute pig that had to have been 2 feet or better. We fished up to a development above the hospital that had some amazing homes in it. We caught another 6 or so in this section. All the fish were browns except 2, the tiger and a rainbow. All were caught on ants, beetles and crickets. Despite the excessive heat and sunny conditions, the fishing was pretty good.
