Fished falling springs from about 2-4:30pm. Saw several black stones with an abundance of midge activity. Bright skies had the stones hatching, but kept the larger fish deep. Saw a few risers, mostly 6-8" fish. Found one that warranted a cast and gave him a long release as he found some structure to free himself.

Thanks for the report...I love Falling Springs Branch, and I've been itching to get up there. Very tough fish, but the rewards are amazing every once in a while.

I have read alot about this creek and plan on heading there sometime this year or next. What is public access like? Any posted ground?

Nice report.

I too was a big fan of Falling Springs. I actually liked it better than the LeTort. Good to hear that it still gives them up grudgingly.

If it were easy, it wouldn't be much fun... OK if it was easy once in a while it would be a LOT of fun. 🙂

Corn,
FSB has good access - there is a section in the mid FFO that is posted (between Garmen and Edwards Ave) and some posted yards in the DAHO.

Cornholio, there is good access in the upper meadows, not all public, but we are fortunate to have cooperative landowners. There is one section posted between Edwards ave and garman dr, but posted is probably better than another housing development. The delayed harvest waters in town are on private land with access,so just be respectful and you'll be fine. One short section posted just above 5th ave on the right side.
