Heading to Johnsonburg in the very early morning to throw a mouse around, if no action early I'll head to E B ,report back tomorrow
That installed several new channel funnels and added big rocks here and there and walked an excavator up and down the creek bed and I didn't do as well after that eitherthe delayed harvest section has not fished well this year for whatever reason , talked to a few locals and they agreed
Glad you caught some. Be careful walking back there in the dark. I saw a big bear going through Kwik Fill Johnsonburg parking lot at dusk a few days ago.He looked like he was swimming in Special Regs .Kind of like a bath before a night on the town breaking bird feeders scattering trash and such. I've saw bear 5 of the last 7 days within 10 miles of the special regs . All of them were within short proximity to water. Maybe I wouldn't carry sandwiches back there . No sandwiches, if you have a dog keep it close, and be aware.. Bear attacks are rare but still occur . Just something to think about.Caught 4 rainbows in the trophy trout section today and missed 2 bigger fish ,one was a good Brown and the other I didn't see, watched a doe and her 2 fawns swim across ,water was 59 in the morning and 61 when I left, got to my truck and noticed I left my rod case streamside and had to walk back for it, I usually throw it over my shoulder when I walk in while it's dark ,don't want to break a rod trudging through that jungle in the dark lol,
I'm going out tomorrow with hopes of rising fish and topwater eats.....I better pack my split shot I guess.I didn't get a take on dries today. Not a fish.
Ha. Doubtful. Have you seen the stream levels? Dude, today I threw a bobber rig with a single nymph around for a while and I was snagging bottom with just the nymph, no split shot. That was even on a bigger crick. Stream levels are LOW.I'm going out tomorrow with hopes of rising fish and topwater eats.....I better pack my split shot I guess.
I haven't been out for trout since the tail end of cicada fest....late June maybe? So yeah, I'll be in the same frame of mind....be nice to just get out and cast sounds pretty good.Ha. Doubtful. Obviously I am partially kidding, but dang, cricks are low. That is typically when I love to fish dry flies, too, but no takers today. It was also at 12 pm, and I didn't try very hard. It just felt nice to be out and casting.
