Let me be clear. The demo rod is for all of us to enjoy and cast but must be returned unharmed. I'll eat the rod if broken so Greg is out.

That's very nice to send a demo rod. If you send a fast action, you'll have people say they wish you would have sent the medium action rod.... and vise versa. I'm interested in checking out the faster action model. A while back, I wanted to pick up an Echo 2 because of the spare tip idea. Ended up be discontinued / sold out before I could grab one. The spare tip feature really caught my eye and that is a huge plus.

Is there any chance you can send one of each model? This would give the participants a chance to compare the two models side by side.

Hopefully we'll get some pictures of the rods with fish before the "Alby factor" happens. LOL.

Hope this isn't a stupid question but, do I need any kind of registration sticker for the pontoon? I had to get a sticker for my kayak for Moraine state park

You probably need a PA "Launch (Use) Permit". Maybe this is what you have for Moraine?

On the high side right now, but okay level for floating. If it holds, wading will be out on the WB and MS for the most part.

A flow change such as this usually puts fish down for a day or two, but good that it happened 4 or 5 days before your trip. Also good that this time of year, the flow increase does not come with a temp drastic temp change either way. In fact the temp range is ideal at the HE guage (50-57*).

The worst cast scenario would be if the res turn-over happened while you guys were up there.

Keep an eye on the flow and the reports.

That flow is ideal. It takes 75% of waders out of play. 1500-1800 cfs would concern me but 800 at hale is perfect. I'm not getting excited thoough...they shut it off just as quick as they opened it. If the lake turns over, get your streamer rod ready. Wish they'd bump the east to 500cfs. Pray for more water. Any release between 400 and 1500 will work. The fish change holding positions big time between those two numbers

Well, right on schedule.....they opened the gates yet again. I don't care if I plan this for early September or mid October, they''ve hit me with a big release 3 out of 4 years. It's right around 1100 cfs release. Wading the wb at that flow is not advised / dangerous except for those with lots of hours on that river. That's the bad news. The good news is that it won't impact floaters too much. 90% of fishing will be done from the boat. The main should be fine to wade. The east, upper east and Beaverkill are all low and very wadeable.

Side note- flow can go from the current 1100 cfs to 150 cfs in a matter of 3 hrs. You never know until you're there so come on up and we'll adjust the plan of attack if we need to.

What a difference a day can make (at least on the West Branch!). The higher flows were as hock to the system early on, but the fish have certainly adapted. The Browns were highly aggressive for the majority of the day on streamers and wet flies, and the late afternoon turned into some great dry fly fishing, with the trout up and after the psuedos, cahills, hebes, and isos that were coming off. Much to my delight, Bob had great luck just throwing the cheeseburger (Iso) last night – convincing fish that were obviously sipping the psuedos to come and eat the big flies instead. Today, we’ve got a bit more cloud cover predicted, which can only help both the streamer fishing as well as olives popping more throughout the day. The release has also been bumped up to 950 cfs, which should not make too much of a difference in where the fish are hanging out. Time to put in the boat!

No doubt it will be beautiful and we can only hope the fish play nice. No doubt they're in there but getting them to cooperate can be a problem sometimes.
