I can't believe I'm actually gonna sell this rod. It's another one I thought I'd die with 😂 But I've been bit by the saltwater bug, and I'm turning some trout rods into saltwater rods.
I may regret this one. 🤔
This is a custom built Sage Z- Axis (490-4) that was built for me the year the Z Axis came out, or maybe the following Spring, by a well known rod builder who used to frequent the forums.....and of course I can't remember his name now!
Before you dismiss it because it's "custom",
It uses the same exact guides and spacing that Sage used but with an "upgraded" reel seat. Nickel silver uplock with a cocobolo insert.
The rod has only been fished a handful of times and is as close to new in condition that you will probably ever see in a rod that has been on the water.
Zero scratches, zero chips. Blank looks spotless as does the reel seat.
Cork only has light handling soil. (My DNA is definitely going to help you catch monster trout! 😉😂)
Comes with the non-Sage black powder coated aluminum tube and black sock that was built with the rod.
The Z-Axis is regarded as one of Sage's best sticks ever. The next step up from the legendary XP series.
$350 shipped, $325 in person pick up....
I can meet someone within about 20 miles or so of the house.
Cabela's Hamburg is a good spot if you're in the area.
