Apologies for the recent absence.....
The next fly swap theme came via a conversation with @5footfenwick . it’s THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL SWAP. Everyone has to tie two different terrestrial patterns. The first one everyone states what the pattern is. The second fly is a secret and a surprise. It’s the extra terrestrial. He said he totally got the idea from Franktroutangler’s story of seeing extra terrestrials on April fools day on this site a while back.
Registration for this swap will close when we reach 10 tyers, so you will need to tie 10 pairs of flies. **The 10th fly is going to be sent to Project Healing Waters from the Fly Tyers of PAFF. Thanks for supporting this amazing organization.
Ill set a delivery date once the swap fills. Due to the number of flies to tie, it will be a few weeks after the close of the swap.
As usual, will follow WWKimba’s (Kim Bowman) usual rules for this swap:
Swap members should remember the basic things needed for a swap:
– your debarbed sets of 2 flies,
– connected with tippet or line through the hook eye, each with its own toe tag,
– all included in your swap box (make sure yours is big enough for 20 flies),
– with a return Self Addressed Stamped Envelope, all included in a Sending Envelope.
When registration is over, I’ll send everyone a gentle reminder via PM.
If you are new to fly swaps or a new tyer you are most welcome to join in the fun. Please don’t be afraid to dive in!!! Let me know and I can help provide you with any assistance you might need. My job is to ensure that your first swap experience is a good one!
