Started out the day on Elk at Rick road area. Water was stained and probably a foot higher than last Saturday. I did'nt think the water was very high but the water was stained enough to make me move off.
Headed to Walnut near Rt. 20 (figuring the creek would clear a little faster). Creek seemed to have good flow and stained. (less than Elk though) I hooked up pretty quick with an pink egg patterns- but lost'em. Poked around for another hour or so with no other activity. No too many guys in theses areas at all.
Bit the bullet and headed to the mouth at Walnut to see if I could get on the board. Was crowded as expected but I go into fish. The masses were huddled near the holes I went to the most open spot- faster water. I hooked up 8-9 times with landing 4-5. Used pink egg pettern all day.
Nice sunset today. Saw a snake climbing among some rocks.
Most guys on the board will out fish 90% of the people there because they just chuck there line in with no reguard to depth,speed,structure etc... Walnut dropped a little and started to clear. Tomorrow should be nice and proceed to get lower and clearer. Once again, even in crowded conditions everyone around me was pretty cool. Good luck.
