Hit Erie a few days back. I poked around near the mouths of Walnut and Elk creeks. Both are very slow. Just too few fish in the pools. 200 hitless drifts prompted me to divert to Central PA limestone creeks.
Thanks to Flyfisher's Paradise fly shop for getting me what I needed and more of what I did'nt need. If it's fly gear I can usually be easily persuaded.
I saw a deer in one the creeks(PA limestoner) eating the weed growth. She was standing in about a foot of water and putting her whole head in and pulling it out with a mouthful of vegatation. This went on for almost an hour. Never seen that before. Fishing was good. Fall is on. The water had just the right amount of leaves to be pretty without being annoying. That will change in the next few weeks. Good night sports fans.
