So what you are saying is you ended up getting a room using the snow as an excuse and fished all day Sunday, too?!?!?! ;-)
Good thinking!

Glad you made it home safe...it was a pleasure fishing with you!

I wish I stayed the night in Erie to fish on Sunday; it would have been alot more fun than the trip home

I did make it home safe, but had a minor accident on the way back. Neither I nor the other driver was hurt. I took a room for the night, not wanting to drive any further, given road conditions.

I probably should have explained in my 1st post, but I didn't want to worry anyone. Just be careful out there everyone, especially during the next few months.

All is well; I look forward to fishing with you guys again soon.

YIKES...sorry to hear that GF. They were tough conditions with ice and white-out conditions. Hope the repair process goes painlessly! Glad you and the other are ok!

THANKS RYAN FOR THE EGG COLORS.

Ryan is my steelheading idol. Thanks for all the help Dude!

GF - I am sorry for your troubles. Glad you walked away. It was nasty out there.

was going to head up today, but weather guy just said 1-3 ft!! of snow for the lakes later today, tonight. think I'll pass. have a job to finish up next week, then off for the holidays, hopefully get up there then.

Elk is blown anyway. The Brandy Run stream gauge is going through the roof.... ...again.

Kev

I like the walnut gauge as it is in walnut and near the mouth. Brandy run is just a trib and not a good guage for what Elk is really doing.

If we do get some more rain/snow today and tomorrow, the weekend looks to be pretty good. (I think I'm headed up)

Oh, you're gonna get snow. Check the Erie weather report. We're talking feet here when you add it all up.

No one on the stream today lol.........

it maybe be back down by the weekend , water temps are rising though , less dissolved oxygen too if u watch the chart , less oxygen , less fish feeding and moving much , i know 1 creek that will probably be fishable if every other one is blown though

"ahh it'll be fine"

the last words of a true steelheader!

(I'm still contemplating going up)

Snow occurring on Dec 10 | Dec 11 | Dec 12. Total amount 13.2 Inches. High wind occurring on Dec 10 | Dec 11. Maximum sustained 27 mph (maximum gust 41 mph).

Enjoy!

I think I'm done steelhead fishing for the year. I made it to the end of Jan last year, but I don't know if I have it in me.

I usually make it up a week or so before Christmas (hence this trip) to bring a fish home to smoke for Chrismas eve dinner, and then head up after the thaw in the spring. I make a few random trips here and there if the weather cooperates, but once the new year rings in, it's pretty much too bad up there to go up.
