Trout buster and myself fished elk yeasterday for the first time of the year. Trout buster made it up here around 9 and we started fishing buy 10. We had a pretty good day we each landed one fish and I had another hooked up but it threw the fly. We did miss quite a few hit due to being rusty from the long winter. Stream conditions were pretty good in the morning will clear water and good flow in the open sections still iced up in spots but pleanty of open runs. As the day went on and the temps rised so did the stream due to snow melt and the ice starting to break up. All in all we had fun and it felt great to be out fishing agin. We will be back at it saturday if weather and water condtions allow. She is blowing over the banks today after we got pounded with rain last night and this morning.

Yep, despite ice and the newly discovered hole in my waders, it was a good day on the water! Hope the weather forecast changes so we can hit it again next weekend!!

Elk was fishable today still a bit high and off colored but it was dropping nice. Should be real good tomarrow but supost to be a low of 8 degress tonite but sunny and low 30s tomarrow. Supost to rain friday and saturday so depending on how much it rains it may not be in good shape.

Hey pat ya they were both pretty fresh my buddy was out yesterday and caught some fresh fish. Not a lot but there is some with heavy rain in the picture tomarrow and saturday it should bring in some more. You plan on making a trip up this spring?

Any hopes of a trip are shot for this weekend. As long as the waters come down, next saturday could be a good day for a trip. Might be four of us coming up that day.
