It's winter in Erie.

Fished 9am-3:30. Water was as high as I have fished it this year. It was offcolor but fishable. My bet will be tomorrow will be the best day of the week.

The place I wanted to park was impassable via car today. Guessing Erie got 8-14 inches of snow the past 2 days.

Fishing was consistent thru the day. Used egg patterns and sucker spawn- pink and orange worked today. Hooked up maybe a dozen times with 3 landed. Not a very good ratio.

Used the korkers rubber with studded sole- dreamy in the snow, worked well.

Hopefully the recent rain and snow will put and end to "low and clear".

First picture is from this past Friday in Erie when it was still fall. Took the one fish home. My feet were very cold today.

Oh, and my guides iced up all afternoon but still better than working.

Looks cold, but look like you hit some decent conditions...good for you! Sometimes it pays to brave the travel conditions. I noticed nobody in the pictures...selective framing or reduced crowds?
As always, nice pics...you've got a great "fisherman's eye".

Not many folks out yesterday- seemed to be all local dudes. Give credit to the local municipalities; they had several fishing parking lots totally cleared of snow. Talked to one guy who took a spill. He looked very cold and his cell was ruined.

Twice yesterday it just starting snow out of nowhere and I hooked into fish both times- like some reward for hanging out and fishing. Had to shoo off a crow from taking liberties with my keeper. Should be good conditions for days. Saw $2.15 gas yesterday- heard it is much cheaper in Columbus OH.

Fished with a long time friend yesterday who caught his first steelhead on a fly rod. Way to go E.

Not many guys out yesterday with the weather and all. Today should be a nice day up there.
