Elk Creek was still low despite the recent precip.
The water got a little stained in the afternoon hours- which helped. Was hoping for higher flows to get the fish moving but it never happend. The fish are still in the bigger pools for the most part. A few are in the faster water- this is where I fished and landed 2 fish. I had 2 others on for a second or two- think one was foul hooked. Used egg patterns with dropper and a couple shot.
Leaves were a real problem yesterday- cleaned my rig for a couple hours on almost every cast. The leaves disrupted many of the drifts. Not as many guys out yesterday with the nasty forecast but still anglers at all the bigger pools.
Had great optimism when I rolled over and looked at the clock blurry eyed at 4:12am. (not usually problem that early unless you go to bed at 1:30) It was raining in Pittsburgh and the forecast was for rain for most of the day- I had high hopes. Pretty slow day of fishing. Need more rain.
