Made the trip up north yesterday with a couple buddies. Started out the day at Folly's. Elk had good flow but was a clearing. My one buddy caught 3. Other buddy caught 2. I got the skunk. The ticket was chartreuse egg with a prince nymph dropper. Hit up Theresa's for lunch and then hit Crooked. Flow here was good and water was stained Went 1 for 2 here and finally got the skunk off, landing a nice 24" buck. A lot of good water here but it's combat fishing. Combat with nature that is. Trees and briars and them some. Overall, it was good conditions for this stream. Others in the crew each caught 1. Finished up at Follys to round out the day and I went 1 for 2 there on s chartreuse egg. Compared to the morning, there was definitely an uptick in flow along with some more color. My one friend hooked into a pig up above and he couldn't turn it at all. It just burned line upstream. All in all it was a good day. Fish are there, you need to work for them but they are there. Seems like there would be micro-pods of 3-4 fish here and there. We couldn't see the fish and they couldn't see us, which is the way I like it. Tight lines and handle the upcoming smolts with care.
