A buddy and I made the drive up to Erie from Little Washington this AM. Started at Elk on Rick Road, Slush, some open water, and bank ice....
Jumped in the truck looking for some more water, Went to Folly's. Fished the big hole right behind the store. Caught one quickly...he skirted under the ice...turned and jumped up through the slushy, ice top and back through this own hole into the water...
Moved to Legion Hole...lots of slush and bank ice...few fish spotted. Gave up on Elk...I realize we were headed the wrong way and the slush and ice was catching up to us...
Went to 16 mile...no ice, no slush, nice open water...only a few fish in the slot near the mouth...racked em up on the deep pools above the slot...very clear water except in the deepest pools.
