took a buddy of mine fishing up tp erie on saturday started off behind the sewer plant on elk water was real clear....fished from first light to about 11 I hooked up and landed 3 on cream sucker spawns and white with red thread crystal meths....buddy was using spinning gear and hucking eggs and minnows and wasn't hooking up.....was gett discouraged....so I took him to the dreaded manchester hole on walnut....tied on some of my 4x florcarbon tippe for hime and by 2 pm till dark he was reeling them in like a pro...
I landed three more and he must of landed at least 12 had a blast and was able to catch them on my new costom made switch rod....god odd looks as guys seen me walking around with a two hander but after they seen me reeling them in they where asking who made it..
elk water was moving fast...real clear...good water depth but very cold..think it would of been better afternoon to dusk..fish seemed sluggish and where hitting very softly...
walnut water seemed warmer had good stain to it water was moving perfectly..not a lot of action til the later hours....2 till dusk we where crushing them tippet size made the difference...I had 2x on and no bites switched to 5x and wham fish on....
hope to get back a lot more...about my 20th trip so far like to venture into the mile creeks but haven't made it there usually a elk creek junky so if you see a kid walking around with a two hander spay rod look alike say hi
