Fished East Clarion River in the DHALO section. Gage on lake outflow dam was at 2.64, and temperature right around 54 degrees F. The water was clear with good visibility. Considering every other place that I wanted to fish was either blown out, or way to muddy, the East Clarion was a very good choice for the day. No rain, excellent weather, and sun most of the day. It was a mixed bag of approaches for the fish. Late morning went with some black zebra midges, size 20. Had a few takes, and landed one bow about 18 inches. As the day went on I saw what looked like caddis coming off. Switched from nymphing to some dry fly with tan elk hair caddis. Had one brown take, and then a brook. In the middle of the day took a break, and enjoyed some lunch. Later in the day worked further down stream with a cream colored cahill, size 14. Skated it across the surface of the water and had some great misses. Did manage to land a couple of browns, and a brook trout about 15 inches. All in all a great day considering everywhere else I thought about fishing was either blown out or muddy. This is only the second time that I have fished there, and it is a great place. The views are beautiful, and the water is prime. Can't wait to get back there.

Well written report Streamhawk.

What county is this section located in (I can't recall)? We include the county in the title line for reasons of consistency and search functions. Thanks.

After so many minutes you lose the ability to edit. Moderators can assist at that point as has been done. Nice report.

Has anyone ever fished at the bottom release ?, you can only get so close as its restricted but talking to a couple of locals saying that it holds some big browns, a nice long cast with a streamer I think would work
