The wife was in Cincinnatti this weekend for a conference so I decided to fish in between projects at the house 🙂

Saturday morning was a bit overcast and cloudy in the AM. Fished well below Kerr Park below the train bridge. Lots of tan caddis in the riffles. Took several on caddis dries.

Went back out to the DHALO in the evening. Not a lot of surface action. Fell one short of the slam (No Palomino). Took 2 bruiser bows on sucker spawn. Both were 20+. One pushed 23 or 24. He was suprisingly acrobatic and jumped 3 or 4 times full out of the water and gave me a great fight for such a big stocker!

Sunday morning and I was back out. Mixed bag on the surface and sub-surface again. Again fell 1 short of the slam. Best was a 15 in brown in addition to the fish I'll describe below. BHPTs and Copper Johns seemed to be the most productive. Caddis were hatching again but proved to be pretty unproductive patterns.

I forget who was saying they caught a wild brown but I am a believer now. Up until today I had only caught wild fish in the sections well above the DHALO section. Today I caught a 7 or 8 inch wild brown in the riffles in the woods section. That's was probably the coolest part of the day. :-D
