Bit rainy today but not heavy and water flows were not affected. Fished the deep hole first (around 10 AM) and caught one brown on #18 BHPT. Broke off one pig at the end of the run. Other than that, not much action. Went to the Wall and pulled a 14" Brown on a weenie and a 16-17# bow on a zebra midge. Turned another pig at the end of the wall run on the zebra too but couldn't close the deal. Finished up with white zonkers on the lower stretch thru the rocks and the slow water. Caught one and broke the streamer off on another really big fish to call it a day (2 PM). Saw 3 or 4 other anglers all day.

Side note - was in Kerr Park with my daughter on the playground on Sunday and the banks were absolutely loaded with fisherman of all ages as were the pull offs all along 282. The fish must have been hammered. :-o

I hope "16-17#" was a typo. If not, I'm calling off work tomorrow.

I don't know about 16-17#, which obviously was a typo, but there are some hefty fish in there this year. Fished it for about 4 hours one day last week. First time I'd ever been there and was impressed with the stream. Lots of nice pools and runs. Caught two 18,s and a 19 and wound up with total of 15 fish for the day. Wasted the first hour or so trying to catch them on a black stonefly nymph. Switched to a sz. 16 brown beadhead caddis larva and on the second drift caught the first 18 incher. Caught several smaller ones on it, then tied on a chart. egg pattern and caught the rest on that. Fished from the middle parking area down to the bridge. I've been fishing for wild ones all spring and they're still a little sluggish. It was fun to catch a nice bunch of stockeys for a change. Every one I caught was a rainbow. 🙂

Phew. Good. I'm already at work, and I don't wanna have to sneak out.

17" is still a very nice catch, but I'll put a few hours in at the office for now. Nice report. 🙂

Could someone provide some basic directions on how to get there? Not looking for anyones spot or anything like that. I am coming from the willow grove area (near the willow grove PA turnpike exit)

I fished it a few days ago and caught two fish in the one hole I fished. I got real angry when a man decided to let on of his dogs off of the leash and throw a stick 20 times right into the hole I was working my way up to. I thought about telling him to check out the sign that mentions keeping pets on a leash. I have no problem with dogs, I have three, but that wasn't right in my opinion. Anyway, I caught one brown about 14" and one rainbow about 17". The rainbow had the body of a largemouth bass.

I know that was a little rude on the part of the guy throwing the stick into the pool that you were working, take that opportunity to work back downstream a little. I was up at the Little Lehigh and four kids started swimming just upstream of my spot. I was a little ticked off but I was amazed at how much stuff they were kicking up. I had a killing on nymph patterns. From now on, if I am working my way upstream and someone starts wading into the top of the pool that I am working up to, I still am a little mad at the lack of etiquette but I try and get right in the current seams that are downstream from them. I have found this method to be very productive.
