Time Fished: 1pm - 220pm

Weather Conditions: 76 degrees, Sun and occasional clouds

Water Conditions: 58 degrees, Clear, slight greenish hue, cfs 153 (historical ave for this day was 178) so less volume than normal

Insects: Couple different types of Caddis (sz 16/18). I wasn’t able to catch any.

No birds working here but a few types of Caddis were present. Fewer insects than on Clarion River, but slightly more rises. I probably saw 7 different risers in 60 yd stretch .

Since there are a lot of rainbows here so I started swinging a Woolly Bugger and had no takes. I saw a handful of rises by the time I reached an overhanging tree that is usually lined with risers. So despite seeing no rises under the tree, I cut off my Bugger in favor of a tan caddis dry. I casted under this tree and hit all shaded areas from front to back with no takers. I proceeded to use beetle, caterpillar, and finally a gray Caddis without a take. I then worked upstream through some risers and had 1 take and had one nudge with a nose. Didn’t hook a fish.

The fellow I was with caught a really nice rainbow 16”-17” on a Caddis dry. He had a few strikes.

There were 3 other people fishing. Only 2 groups of kayakers came past.

I was wondering how it was doing up there thanks for the report. Bummer it was slow

I was out to the DHALO two weeks ago and had very similar results. I saw a few fish, caught 1 rainbow. It has not been very good fishing in a year or so now, not quite sure why either.
