Fished the DHALO section this morning, beautiful weather to do so, but I wish there was a little bit more cloud cover. Fished a tight line dry-dropper set up, with all fish, eating the flash collar pheasant tail mid column, mostly rainbows as far as trout go. I did have an 8” fall fish come out from under an over hanging tree stump and hammer my caddis dry, but nothing else looking up this morning for me. I did see a few sporadic caddis and light colored mayflies fluttering around, but wasn’t quick enough to grab one to get a better look at them.

It was a fun morning, I caught 11 trout, and had 2 interesting catches….

The first I didn’t get a chance to get a picture of, but I caught a small perch, first time for me, and definitely unexpected.

The other was a brookie, maybe 10-11”, and not overly colorful - kinda stocker-ish looking, but otherwise looked great in regards to fins. I’ve only fished the stream a handful of times over the last few years, but I’ve never seen or heard of brookies being found here, and I’m not sure where this guy came from, but it was a pretty cool unexpected catch.

Has anyone ever caught brookies in here before?

Are there feeder streams that he could have come from?
