Fished East Hickory Creek on Sat/Sun. Sat water was high and a little off color. Around 7pm the water temp was 50 degrees. I saw a few Mayflies hatching and a few rises, but the fishing was all subsurface. I was not able to capture any insects. Caught a nice mix of Rainbow, Brown & Brook.
On Sunday we had lots of snow in the area and water temp at 3pm was 44 degrees. Despite the cold temps there was quite a hatch of Hendricksons at 4pm. I caught several. They were having trouble lifting off due to the 37 degree air temp and the majority made the rough ride down the heavy riffles. No fish activity at all. They were not even taking nymphs drifted at eye level. Water appeared to be a little higher than Sat but seemed clearer.
I was very surprised to see so many more duns on Sun despite a 6 degree drop in water temp.
