Had to scrap plans to fish the Yough on Fi./Sat/Sun when the Corps decided 5000 cfs looked like a nice round number! Hit Dunbar quickly on the way in, high, fast and crystal clear. Nymphed (BHSHPT) a nice rainbow out of the edge right under my feet (standing on bank). Sat. went to Loyalhanna (biz. in Liggy). High, fast and dark green. Got 4 in about 4 hrs ( 2 x 2 hrs sessions)- also nymphed. Saw what appeared to be Red Quill dun around 5:30. Wish I could have stayed later.
Zipped down to Meadow Cr. on Sun. a.m- good flow, fast, clear. 1 pretty little brown before major downpour- had to go anyway. Saw a couple darker caddis emerge.
Take aways- there are fish, and they are spread out. Don't neglect the edges in fast water. Look for slower edges off the fast. First time I ever saw someone with a wading staff at Loyalhanna, and it didn't look out of place.
